I learned from personal experience as a refugee that even when you feel like an outsider—whether you're an immigrant or refugee—you can still be the driver of your own destiny. In the corporate world, that diversity can be the human resource that sets you apart from the competition, allows you to be more creative and more dynamic. Personally, you can be the example to future generations that we can retain our heritage and thrive in a country that affords freedom of speech, education, and religion. Now is the time for each of us to embrace our differences.
